PYRATHANE ® is our registered trade name for the polyurethane
elastomer used in the manufacture of our endless stretch belts.
PYRATHANE belts are used in a wide variety of low and fractional
horsepower drive applications as well as transport devices for
film, currency, small parts and many other items that need to
be moved. Our belts are often used to replace O-rings which have
been pressed into service as drive belts in the past.
Pyramid Inc. has been a leader in replacing rubber with polyurethane in stretch belt applications, which has become standard industry practice. The

advantages over rubber in low and fractional horsepower applications.
Our endless belts offer many times the durability and toughness of rubber or
synthetic rubber, while still exhibiting a desired elasticity. This elasticity
eliminates the need for tensioning devices allowing for simpler designs and
significant cost reductions. The high hysteresis loss of polyurethane (friction
caused by the interaction of molecules) results in superb vibration dampening
qualities.
